Infant & Maternity
Infant products carry the strictest food-contact expectations on this site, and the end user cannot tell you when something tastes wrong.
We supply LSR and HTV grades for bottle nipples, teethers, soothers, feeding tableware, breast-pump diaphragms and suction parts. These are platinum-cured, BPA-free and formulated for repeated boiling or steam sterilisation without softening or developing surface tack.
Because the failure mode here is silent — an off-taste, a tear at the nipple base, a colour that fades — we put the effort into VOM control, tear strength and colour fastness to saliva and repeated washing rather than into a headline hardness number.
Food-contact approval
FDA and LFGB reports, plus PAHS and REACH declarations for the EU.
Sterilisation resistance
Repeated boiling and steam cycles without softening, tackiness or shape loss.
Tear strength
Nipple bases and teether joints that resist biting without fragmenting.
Low VOM
No odour or taste transfer — the defect a parent notices first.
Material Ranges Used in This Sector
These are the product lines we normally quote for Infant & Maternity. If your part needs something outside them, tell us the requirement — custom formulation is a normal request, not an exception.
What Ships With the Material
Every lot leaves with paperwork. What changes by sector is which documents your customer will ask to see.
- COA per batch — hardness, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength and specific gravity on the lot you receive.
- TDS — full curing and processing guidance, not a marketing sheet.
- Compliance declarations — FDA, LFGB, RoHS, REACH, PAHS and VOM as applicable to the grade.
- Third-party test reports — arranged on the specific grade you buy, through SGS or an equivalent laboratory.
Certificate copies are available for download, and we can issue a declaration naming your market and application.
Questions Buyers Ask About Infant & Maternity
Yes. Silicone contains no bisphenol A and no plasticiser, so there is nothing to leach. We still supply the declaration in writing because retailers ask for it by name.
Yes, with the right post-cure. The risk is under-cured compound, which turns tacky after a few cycles. We specify the post-cure schedule with the grade so your moulder does not have to guess.
Typically 30–50 Shore A, with the softer end for newborn flow rates. The exact figure follows the nipple geometry and the flow rate you are targeting, so we usually tune it together with the mould.
